Railyard Skatepark Update

In 2019 volunteer groups campaigned to update our city skatepark located at Outwater Park. The city put forth $10,000 to repair our current wooden park and with the help of community volunteers from Lockport Community Services, Inc, Friends of the Railyard Skatepark, city union volunteers, volunteers from the painters union, and others we were able to complete the project in time for the first annual skate/concert event on July 4, 2019. This helped us secure a grant opportunity through the The Skatepark Project (formerly known as the Tony Hawk Foundation) and Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation to receive a match grant for all monies raised up to $250,000 by November 24, 2021. The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation is also giving $50,000 in addition to the match grant for Green Infrastructure Initiatives on the project. Our local foundation- Grigg-Lewis has generously donated $125,000. We are working on grants through the county's Greenway fund, as well as the OSHEI Foundation and other community organizations. We are actively seeking corporate sponsors, community organization and foundation grant opportunities, as well as donations from everyday people. Please consider helping our cause by either volunteering to help with events like our fundraising events (meat raffle, concerts, etc...) or donating. Every little bit will help us meet our goal. We have a fundraising event scheduled at the Niagara County Golf Course on Davison Rd. in Lockport on August 28, 2021. More details will be forthcoming. We have a Go Fund Me set up as well at the following link: https://gofund.me/251c0bd5
